I am not against growth. It is going to continue whether the council likes it or not. The question is whether we grow on the developer's terms or on ours. My answer, every time, has been ours.

The emergency rebuild of the clarifier at Water Plant 1. The lift station repairs. The final Water Master Plan. The resolution telling LCRA to manage Lake Travis fairly and protect our water security.
See the votesBoth years I have been on council I supported the no new revenue tax rate. That is the rate that brings in the same amount of money as last year from the same properties.
See the votesOn speed limits, my position is consistency. In March 2025 I brought the item that asked the Chief of Police to look at where our speed limits change for no good reason. On the short drive from FM 1431 up Lohman Ford, the posted limit changed seven times. I said it then and I will say it now. I am not advocating to increase the speed limit. I am not advocating to decrease it. I am advocating for a consistent speed limit as much as possible.
See the votesAfter residents filled City Hall to talk about the Flock license plate readers, I made the motion to cancel the contract immediately and pay the termination fee, which the contract sets at $500 a camera. Council agreed unanimously. The Fourth Amendment protects you against being tracked without cause, and no one could tell us with confidence where the data was going or who else could see it.

See the votesIf you have watched a council meeting, you may have noticed that I am usually the one arguing to keep talking. When council voted on whether to cut off debate, I voted no. When council moved to start executive sessions at 3:00 in the afternoon and open meetings at 4:00, I voted no, because most people who work cannot be at City Hall at 4:00 on a Thursday, and a meeting you cannot attend is not really open.

Two years on your City Council. Here is what I did, why I did it, and what I still want to get done.
Most of what happens at City Hall never reaches your kitchen table. A council meeting runs three or four hours, the minutes get posted to a website few people visit, and the decisions that shape your water bill, your street, and the hillside behind your house pass by without much notice. I think you deserve better than that, especially in an election year.
So I asked for my full voting record to be pulled from the official minutes and the meeting videos. Every motion I made, every vote I cast, and every time I was the only no vote on the dais. This letter is my attempt to walk you through it in plain language. Where I disagreed with my colleagues, I will tell you why. Where I would do something differently today, I will tell you that too.
